A quick jaunt over to Genting Highlands (a theme park and casino centre of Malaysia), on the weekend allowed my family and I some much needed rest!  Well, with the few photography pleasures and opportunities I have nowadays, I did not hesitate in bringing my Canon DSLR with me on the trip.  Here are the first of a series of HDR processing which I did to the shots.

Enjoy the rest here at my Flickr Gallery

Comic Relief from Mark Jenkins

14-07-2009Category : Art, Feature Photographers

I came across the works of Mark Jenkins, a street artist that has created some excellent creative works.  His ideas will get you stopping in your tracks and looking again a second time around.  For me, the laughter comes just a second later after I see the humour in the creations, after a brief second of wondering and staring in amazement.

Mark uses plastic wrapping cleverly in his artwork and photographing this and sharing it will ensure that it becomes not only a temporary static physical art piece but a viral piece to be appreciated.

Enjoy checking out his galleries here : Mark Jenkins

Featured Photographer : Dave Hill

10-07-2009Category : Feature Photographers

Dave Hill skilled photography techniques and unique photo-editing skills have created a style of eye-popping “candy-like” treatment to all his finished shots.  Careful contrast editing and nicely controlled dodge-and-burn like effects with myriads of other colour treatment techniques are used.  Dave Hill also is careful about the message that comes across from the shots, whether it’s subtle treatment or one done with impact, the pictures tell their stories like well-written poetic prose’s.

Silver Lining in the Clouds

10-07-2009Category : One Shot Wonders

kennygoh_silver_lining

I travel frequently especially between my hometown in Miri, Borneo and Kuala Lumpur where I work.  So, cloud scenes are not uncommon to me.  On one trip, out-of-the-blue (get the pun? Hehehe…), I decided to take some shots on my EOS 300D (at the time), on RAW setting and got this shot.  The original was very much milder and with a bit of tweaking, this was the amazing outcome.

Sandy Serenity & Solitude

Beautiful sunset scene at the beach of Bagan Lalang at Sepang, in the state of Pahang, Malaysia.  At sunset, people come here and just relax.  Some having stayed from morning in tents.  Timeout for the whole family.

On a trip to Thailand, I came across slippers of colours on a wall in the streets of Phatphong.  I couldn’t resist taking a shot of this colourful display.

Shot was taken with a Nikon 4500 digital camera.

Canopy of Colours

In December 2003, a few days before a new year celebration, base-jumpers were practising their jumps from the Petronas Twin Towers.  I was setting up for the new year celebration and decided to take some shots of them doing that… and this one lone jumper just got into my framing just perfectly!

Shot with a Nikon 4500 digital camera.
